The end boss of our game project Spite:Absolution
This project used Diablo 3 as a reference game, and Heroes of the Storm as a style guide.
During the project I took this character from creating the concept to finished textures.
Because of the locked camera angle and the fact that the boss is stationary, the modeling and texturing was optimized with this in mind, to make the model cheaper and save time.
The idea behind this character was a religious leader who's influenced had diminished. As she had developed a taste for a big following and controlling others, she turned to a sanctioned cursed artifact, a crystal that allows the wielder to resurrect the dead. After abusing the crystals power, the artifact turned on her, gaining control and rapidly expanded inside her body. The asymmetrical design allowed us to use the almost severed arm for spell casting, and the more functional arm for physical attacks as a tell for the player.
I designed the human version first as to pull designs from her clothing to add to the monstrous version.
