Hades, Lord of the Underworld

A personal project. I'm very interested and inspired by history and mythology, and I've always wanted to make a series of my own renditions of the different gods from different mythological beliefs. Never thought I was good enough to reach the result I had in my head until now so I went for it.

I didn't want to design Hades as an obvious bad guy, since he is not really in mythology. Although being the God of the underworld, there is a lot of negative things associated with him. The black ram was something associated with Hades and something I really likes incorporating into his design, and I also worked in some chains and armor considering the fact that most of the dead try to escape Hades, and he acts as a jailer to them in a way. The weapons and wristbands also let me add the Helm of Darkness, Hades legendary weapon given to him by the cyclops which lets tits wearer turn invisible. I thought about adding Cerberus into the background but in the end I wanted to spend more time on playing around with lighting than the background.
